SAYBROOK TWP.---Surrounded by her loving family, Lucille (Lu) Lamm passed peacefully at her home in Ashtabula on Sunday morning, June 19th 2016.
She was born November 4, 1929 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Cosmos and Laura (DiDonato) Lamm. Lucille graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1948. She then went on to enjoy a 38 year career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and served as Office Manager for many years. Upon retirement, she spent several years working part-time for the Deck of Cards in the Harbor. She was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Peace Parish (Our Lady of Mount Carmel).
Lucille will be remembered for her gracious hospitality, her very caring demeanor and her beautiful smile. Lucille attended and enjoyed every family occasion, including birthdays, weddings, graduations and first communions, for her numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews. She will also be remembered for her wonderful baked goods, her generosity and her special ability to make those around her feel special.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff of the Ashtabula Chapter of The Hospice of the Western Reserve.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Florence (Lamm) Prisco, brothers Anthony and John Lamm and nephew Jon Lamm.
Lucille is survived by her sister-in-law Dolores Lamm, niece and primary care taker, Karen (Wayne) Umholtz of Ashtabula, nieces and nephews Diane Ashley of Ashtabula, Gerald (Tara) Lamm of Concord Twp., Bobbie (Brad) Best of Ashtabula , Dale (Lynette) Prisco of Liberty Twp., OH, Dean (Cheryl) Prisco of Lakeland, CO, Lorraine (Gene) Santoro of Poland, OH and Judy (Arne) Misgasky of Indianapolis, IN; seventeen great nieces and nephews and seventeen great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Czup Funeral Home, 1329 Lake Ave, Ashtabula. Deacon Richard Johnson officiating. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Hospice of the Western Reserve.
